It’s official: Pembrokeshire has more fabulous beaches than any other part of the UK.

Keep Tidy have announced the 2011 Seaside Awards. Despite being smaller than England or Scotland, Wales has again received 75% of the Awards across the UK. In other words, three times as many as the whole of the rest of Britain.

And it’s not just Wales that has done well. Pembrokeshire has had an excellent result, as we should expect given that it is the UK’s only coastal National Park. Thirty-two beaches have been awarded a flag this year. That’s the largest number for any county in Wales
